The Lawman Discourse
medio 2009
Read this fine analysis in LE MONDE diplomatique (in norwegian) as they consider the LAWMAN superhero strip to be a historical document on recent years era of politics, and suggest that LAWMAN is self-consciously taking the fascist trends in the moralism of the superhero genre to its extremes.

Anticonsensual Cover Art
medio 2008
A painting by Bitsch is the cover of Robin Wildt Hansen's novel "I hver vores skyttegrav", which is due for publication in early November 2008. An English translation will also be available from November.
The novel points out how the inept backwardness of Danish politics in fact connects to the trained lawabiding nature of the subjects. In this society, the barriers between the genders are fortified by the all-pervasive cultural rules which forbid any genuine passion.

Norwegian antifederalism
ultimo 2006
The norwegian movement "Nei til EU" make use of the Overdanmark strips in their political pamphlets. Throughout history the norwegian antifederalists traditionally used the leading european comic strip to make a political point. In the 1970's it was Asterix and the struggle of the small gaul village against the roman empire that illustrated the relationship between Norway and the EU. And nowadays Bitsch's Overdanmark is heralded as the spearhead of antifederalism.

The Holocaust cartoon
Medio 2006
Jørgen Bitsch found himself at the center of a nationwide controversy after entering the international holocaust cartoon contest. The iranian contest has been labelled by the media as anti-Semitic and as denying the existence of the Holocaust. This is, according to Jørgen Bitsch, completely unjustified. He sees his own contribution in the contest as a way of contributing to the debate of the actual state of the World by means of the Holocaust.
