- Why is it called QualityComics.dk?

QualityComics.dk is named after one of the great lines of comics from the american Golden Age: Everett M. Arnold's Quality Comic Group of the 1940's. It featured such great work as Will Eisners 'The Spirit', Jack Cole's 'Plastic Man' and Reed Crandall's 'Black Hawk'.

The Quality bull pen was dedicated to bring about comic art that

1. stroke the audience with a richness and vitality in graphic achievement

2. had an attitude and a relevance to the people at the time

3. would entertain a mass audience

The same ideals are celebrated by Jørgen Bitsch here at QualityComics.dk as opposed to the sterile minimalism that has taken over the newspaper strip in recent decades. as opposed to the lack of attitude and relevance in many mainstream comicbooks of today. as opposed to the subcultural nature of the talented comic art of today.
